Sorority membership is a gift. And, as sorority women, we need to be able to articulate what exactly that gift offers us and other women. How do we invite more women to enjoy this gift that we've been given?

Being able to tell our story as sorority women allows us to better market the opportunity of sorority. We need to embrace marketing and do it through a storytelling lens. When we diversify our messaging, share it on multiple platforms, and create a story worth telling, more women will be interested and more women will want to join us on this journey.

In order to tell our story, and tell it well, we need to better understand just who is hearing our message and who needs to hear our message.

We can't expect people to just blindly join our organizations because we've told them to trust us. They actually need to trust us. And we can't just tell them that we're great - we need to show them just how great we are.  And, we do all of that through authentic connections. Authenticity and authentic connections build trust.

Speaking of authenticity, when we show a video of who we are but then we show up differently throughout the year - we aren't delivering on our recruitment promises and we also are living up to our values. A Values-based recruitment process allows us to show PNMs exactly who we are and helps them decide if we're the right fit for what they value.

Formal recruitment - the largest opportunity for women to join a sorority on most campuses. But, formal recruitment is more nuanced than just that. There's more that goes into it and more we need to explore in order to make this experience better each year.

COB - Continuous Open Bidding. More chapters than ever before are participating in COB and many have no idea where to even start. Let's first start by talking about COB as an amazing opportunity and then let's dive in to just how you can be successful at it.

The Art and Science of recruitment.
Technology is the science - technology helps us systemize our processes so we can focus more energy on the art of recruitment. And well, we think we're the industry experts on recruitment technology. We also think you'll agree!

Recruiting our new members can't stop on preference night.  We need to continue to build relationships and make our new members feel at home - if we don't, we'll lose them. Recruitment is year round - recruitment is for all of our members. Recruitment includes Bid Day and Beyond.

Just one last thing...

Worth sharing again, we cultivated new resources as we approached unchartered territory in 2020. 

With the idea of virtual recruitment a new idea in the world of sorority - no one knew where to begin.

We starting the exploration on how we could be successful - and we saw many chapters and councils thrive.  Here are just a few snippets of what we shared.
